Motorola edge 60 Pro vs Vivo V50 Comparison

Vivo V50 Vs Motorola Edge 50 Pro | Ultimate Phone Comparison ! ✨️ - YouTubeIntroduction

So, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro is easily one of the most exciting phones in the market right now. But the Vivo V50 which is the camera focused Z toing phone is also available for under rupees 35,000.

So, which one should you buy between the two is a question that a lot of people have. But the answer to that question is a straightforward one. So why don’t you guys take a guess in the comments and see if it aligns with my choice.

Build and Design

Now, both these phones use different materials for the build. Motorola uses vegan leather where Vivo uses glass and both the phones have a plastic frame.

However, they do look and feel very premium for the price if you ask me. Now, while the Motorola 60 Pro is slightly thicker compared to the V50, it’s lighter compared to the V50.

So, that’s a good thing. However, both these also have very slim frames, and if you’re not careful, they can fall off your hands. So be careful when you’re holding them.

Durability and Protection

I like the fact that both Motorola and Vivo are championing the cost of IP68 plus IP69 rating on their phones. So the Moto edge 60 Pro and the Vivo V50 gives you that and that’s a piece of mind in a country like India where it rains a lot.

But Motorola adds one more thing on top of it and that is a military standard 8108 certification, and it also passes like 16 rigorous durability tests which is awesome because if I do this Yeah. I mean both these phones nothing will happen to them.

Display Protection and Design Texture

Now as for the glass protection on top of the display you get Corning glass 7i on the Moto edge 60 Pro whereas Vivo has its own custom solution. It’s built with Vivo and Shot and it’s called diamond glass protection.

So that’s a good thing. And of course, with respect to the kind of texture that is there on the back of the you know vegan leather which is like this new nylon texture. I kind of like it. It’s very nice.

Ports, Buttons and Moto AI

Now with respect to ports and buttons, you get very similar ports and buttons, but unfortunately you get USB type-C 2.0 on both the phones. Now there’s an extra button with Motorola that you get that’s over here and it is the Moto AI button and no points for guessing that obviously. Now you can’t remap this button. It is hardcoded to open Moto AI and what Moto AI does and what you can do with it. All of that I’ll tell you guys soon. So, stay tuned for that.

Display Comparison

Now, moving on to the displays. I have a clear winner for you guys, and it is the Motorola 60 Pro. Now, while both use OLED technology for the display, you get a higher resolution display with the 60 Pro.

That’s not it. The size is kind of smaller. So, you do get more pixels per inch as a result. But more importantly, you also do get more screen to body ratio because the bezels are definitely slimmer, and you get an extra degree of curvature compared to the Vivo V50 and it kind of looks very impressive in comparison.

Display Performance and Multimedia

As for the refresh rate, it’s 120 Hz on both. And the HDR peak brightness is also the same on both. But when you take the display outdoors, the HBM peak brightness is technically supposed to be higher on Motorola. But when we saw the displays outside comparing the two, it sorts of looked very similar in terms of brightness.

However, what I love about Motorola’s display is that it is pantone validated for colours and skin tone, and it is properly flagship grade in terms of colour tuning. I was particularly impressed with Motorola’s display especially while watching YouTube videos in HDR primarily because the HDR gradation has been done well.

Very good control over the highlights and the shadows too. Although vivo does have one advantage and that is the fact that you get support for Netflix HDR which Motorola doesn’t offer.

Audio and Multimedia

Now along with the display when you look at the speakers you get stereo speakers on both. However, we noticed that Motorola has a little bit more bass. Uh take a listen to it and let me know what you guys think.

Now for the audio files in the house, Motorola would be a better choice because you also get support for Bluetooth high res codex like LSDC and LDAC. On Vivo, it’s just LDAC.

Touch, PWM, and Haptics

Now before I move on to the next section, let me tell you that Motorola has a better instantaneous touch sampling rate uh compared to Vivo. But Vivo has an advantage when it comes to PWM dimming rating which is higher. As for the haptic feedback experience, the tuning is actually better on Moto compared to Vivo. And optical in display fingerprint scanner available on both is very fast. No problem there.

Performance

So overall, if you look at the display quality, the display performance, the multimedia experience along with the speakers and the high-res codex support, all of that, I think Motorola has an edge here.

All right, now time to talk about performance and Motorola has made a significant upgrade here because what you get with the Moto 60 Pro is the Demensity 8350 extreme, which is of course a huge bump up compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 which was inside the Moto edge 50 Pro.

And that same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 by the way is inside this Vivo V50. Yes. So Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in 2025 is underpowered for a phone under rupees 35,000. In comparison, the 8350 Extreme is more powerful.

RAM and Storage

Also, it’s not just to do with the chipset itself. The RAM type and the storage type is also faster on Motorola because you get LPDDR 5X RAM type and UFS 4.0 storage. Jump up from UFS 2.2.

With Vivo V50, you still get LPDDR 4x RAM type and UFS 2.2 storage. And evidently when you look at the storage benchmark numbers, it’s higher on Motorola. The rewrite speeds are higher compared to Vivo. Moto also easily beats Vivo both in Geek bench and in Ant2.

Thermal and Throttling

The one advantage of using Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 inside the V50 is that considering it’s last year’s chipset, it can be tuned well. So, it doesn’t throttle at all. Motorola throttles to 74% in our testing. And even the GPU stability is higher on Vivo compared to Moto. It loses less battery life and doesn’t heat up as much as Moto. But that’s again because Motorola pushes for more performance with the 8350 Extreme.

Gaming

If you look at it, the 8350 Extreme is more like a flagship kind of chipset, whereas the 7 Gen 3 is a decidedly mid-range chipset. But if you have to pick one phone for gaming, it will have to be the Moto edge 60 Pro because you will get better headroom with the GPU performance, and it also supports rate tracing by the way.

Now, in our real-life test, we played Genshin Impact and the Edge 60 Pro beats the crap out of the Vivo V50. We got higher FPS, and the phone didn’t even cross 40°. In comparison, the Vivo does get hotter and you do not even get that kind of average FPS.

So, in real world performance, if you want a phone for gaming the Moto edge 60 Pro is doing a fairly good job and this is the summers out here, which is surprising to me because Motorola has taken feedback and has improved performance to ensure that the phone doesn’t heat up.

Unfortunately, though, when you’re playing BGMI, both the phones are locked at 60 fps. With COD, you get 120 fps.

Battery and Connectivity

One interesting thing to note here is that both these phones have a 6,000 mah silicon carbon battery inside with 90 watt charging support. But the advantage of Motorola is you also get wireless charging support at 15 W. But yeah, it’s there. And battery Life Wise, both are fantastic. You can easily expect 9 to 10 hours of screen on time, maybe even more if you don’t batter it like we do.

Now, when it comes to 5G support, both these phones come with ample 5G band support and Jio and Aire work fine on both, which is damn good. But Motorola has an advantage with Wi-Fi 6 support as opposed to Wi-Fi 6 on Vivo and it also comes with NFC as well which Vivo doesn’t have.

Cameras

All right, now time to talk about cameras on both the phones. You get a 50 megapixel primary and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with macro capabilities on both as well. But the major advantage on Motorola is the fact that you get a proper 10 MP 3x telephoto camera which of course is not available on Vivo. As for the selfie cameras, it’s again 50 megapixels on both.

Camera Performance

While both the phones capture good photos under direct sunlight, the detail retention on Moto is excellent. Like I mentioned in my previous video, there is no over sharpening even at 100% crop, which is something that I’m really happy about. And in comparison, you can see that Vivo’s algorithm tends to over sharpen slightly. Even with the 2x in sensor crop, Moto’s camera tuning is far superior in terms of detail retention. And when you zoom further using the 3x telephoto, it is clear which phone is better for zoom. it is the Ed60 Pro.

Low Light and Colour Accuracy

Now when you look at the low light shots especially with the primary camera again the detail retention is better on Moto compared to Vivo. In fact, even when you look at the 2x in sensor crop Moto wins and even at 3x Moto wins. Colour sense reproduction actually is good on both because with Vivo you get the Z natural colour mode and with Moto you get the pantone colour validation. But when we compared the two.

I felt like Motorola was slightly co closer to neutral and close to what my eyes saw as opposed to Vivo which is also close to neutral but not the most accurate.

Lens Consistency and Portraits

However, Moto does have an evident colour shift between the lenses. The consistency is kind of missing, which Motorola needs to fix with an algorithm. Vivo performs better in this regard. HDR tuning is actually very good on both, but Moto has slightly better control over the highlights and shadows when compared to Vivo, although I would say that both are almost on par.

Now, when shooting people against the sun, there is no artificial bloom around the face on Moto, which is evident on Vivo. Plus, there seems to be some lens flare issue as well. Also, if you look at the sky, the colour reproduction is pretty tastefully done on Motorola. Even the colour of the shirt is more accurate on Motorola.

Skin tones are closer to natural on Moto once again thanks to the pantone skin tone validation. But this is with the primary camera. With the 3X, the skin tones are kind of off like I previously mentioned. However, I do like Vivo’s portraits better because you do get better edge detection and bokeh drop off. That’s where Vivo has put the most effort in tuning the cameras on the V50 that…
