Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 Review 2025
introduction:
Back to Mobile Gaming
A couple years ago, I got back into mobile gaming once I had my Fold 4. But as you can see, I went back to a candy bar phone, so I’m missing the big screen. Thankfully, this is the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 — an 8.8-inch screen tablet cantered around gaming.
Unboxing the Legion Tab Gen 3
I don’t even get to see what it actually looks like because this is Brand-sponsored. So, this is what it looks like with our glow circuit skin. Maybe I’ll peel it off later. Let’s see what else is in the box.
What’s in the Box
Type-C to Type-C cable — average length, about 3 feet
A 65-watt charging brick — great to see included
A big box on top — looks like accessories
Case and Screen Protector
Is this a case with a kickstand? Most kickstand cases seem unnecessary, but if you pair a controller, you can go hands-free — great for flights. So I don’t mind it, unless it’s something else.
There are screen protectors and a blue plastic tool — just for applying them.
The case folds into a stand — a bit tricky to set up, but it works.
First Impressions of the Display
The 8.8-inch screen sounds small, but it’s decent gaming real estate. Feels great in the hand and easy to reach controls while gaming.
Port and Button Layout
Let’s clean off the desk. I’ll remove the case to show external ports.
One side: USB-C charging port
Opposite side: second USB-C port — helpful based on orientation
Next side: power button and volume rocker
Top side: speaker grills
Performance Specs
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor — same as flagship phones
256 GB storage
12 GB RAM

Brightness and Display Quality
*Advertised at 500 nits (up to 900 nits outdoors with a burn-in warning).
*Indoor use looks fine, but tests showed it hovers around 500 nits.
*Not a big issue but doesn’t reach max claimed brightness.
Speakers:
Surprisingly Loud
*The speakers are impressively loud and clean — even at 100%, there’s no distortion.
*At 50%, it’s quieter but still clear.
*Likely due to larger tablet form factor — excellent for gaming audio.
Charging:
*Bypass Charging Support
*Supports bypass charging — power goes directly to the motherboard.
*Great feature and well-communicated in the UI.
Camera:
*Photos look pale and flat
*Video maxes at 1080p 30 fps — no 60-fps support
*Understandable, but some users might want a better camera
